[She nods, her hand on the kitchen knife at her belt.]
Alright.

[He glances down at her weapon, nodding approvingly.]
Good. You stay close to me, okay, and yell if you see anything.

[She stays close. One run-in with her father in one night is enough for her.]
Do you think they are the real people or monsters who look like them?

I don't think they're real. I think they're created by the City to scare us or hurt us.
[At least, he hopes they're not real. Then he has to be the guy that shot Bobby's father, and that's never good.]

[He quickens his pace slightly.]
Either he isn't real, or he's died at home, and somehow been brought here.

I don't know who'd kill him at home. I have the gun and Jocelyn would never use it on him.
[She's still looking around her all the time, still shaking like a leaf.]

I'm not sure, either, but I think the best thing to do is stay inside until all of this blows over.

Until they start getting inside, too.
[She picks up her pace to stay a little closer.]

If they start coming inside, we'll have to find a different way to fight them off. Are you a good shot?

I don't want to alarm you, but you might be finding that out sooner rather than later.

I can't think of a better time, given the circumstances.
