Do you eat ice cream all the time?

Not all the time. Sometimes I eat cake.

My father told me eating like that all the time makes all your teeth fall out.

For now. Maybe they're only waiting to fall out when you're not ready for it.

Maybe, but life is short, and ice cream is good.

Yes. I never even got to have ice cream until we started traveling.

I didn't have it as a kid, either.

[He's pushing open the door to the ice cream parlor, now, holding it for her.]

[She makes a beeline for the glass case, pressing both hands into it to peer in. It doesn't help being small like she is to see anything, but she'll grow one of these days, dammit.]

They've got a lot of options. I might have to have more than one.
